World Facts (“we”, “us”, the “site”) is an informational website that shows public statistics on interactive maps. We keep data collection to a minimum. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

You can browse World Facts without creating an account or giving us any personal details. We do not ask for your name, email, or any other identifying information to use the site.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — for example, which pages are viewed, the type of device and browser, approximate location (by country/city), and how visitors arrived. This information is aggregated and statistical. Google Analytics sets cookies and may process a truncated (anonymised) version of your IP address on our behalf.

Server & security logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes requests to the site and may temporarily log technical information such as IP addresses to deliver content, prevent abuse, and keep the site secure.

Cookies

The site uses cookies set by Google Analytics (for example _ga) to measure traffic. We do not use cookies for advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Third-party services

To run the site we rely on a few third parties, which may receive your IP address as a normal part of delivering content:

How we use information

We use the limited information above only to operate, secure, and improve the site — for example, to see which topics are popular. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Your choices and rights

You can block cookies, use the Google Analytics opt-out, or browse in private mode. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have rights to access or delete personal data held about you. Because we do not maintain accounts, we hold very little that identifies you — but you can contact us with any request and we will do our best to help.

Children

World Facts is a general-audience, educational website and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

The data shown on the site

The statistics on our maps come from public sources such as the WHO, UNICEF, the World Bank, UNESCO and the ITU. They describe countries, not individuals, and are not personal data about you.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
